In New Zealand!
Yesterday I landed in New Zealand. After 4 flights, and about 22+ hours in the air I've arrived at my hotel room and then promptly slept like the dead.
The flight across the US from DC to San Francisco was pleasant, but the flight across the Pacific was tough.
Today, it's 6:30am now, is dedicated to a bunch of training, and tomorrow my ECW (extreme cold weather) gear is issued. My ice date is Monday the 25th, however I've already been made aware of weather delays pushing that back.
I'm going to go find breakfast soon and go outside for a smoke. It's 32°f here now, a huge change from the mid 80s I left in the states, and still a lot warmer than on the ice!
Here's some travel photos from my flights and a few snaps of my hotel room.
This photo above is the last photo of the US. Somewhere over the California border.
From here below are some photos over New Zealand on my last flight from Aukland to Christchurch.

Gorgeous! Those circular fields are neat, it's the way the irrigation equipment works. Super excited to get ice updates from you! (It's Liz)
